In the near future, Clarissa, a novelist with writer’s block, joins a prestigious, state-of-the-art artist residency where she’s assigned an AI assistant named Dalloway. The latter quickly becomes more than a simple assistant and turns into a true confidante for Clarissa. Unsettled by Dalloway’s increasing intrusion, Clarissa is warned by whistleblower Mathias, who informs her of the true motives behind the residency and its tech company funder. Clarissa begins to suspect that this seemingly perfect situation is in fact a meticulously crafted trap.

Presented as a Midnight Screening at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, Dalloway stood out for its visual style and its exploration of artistic creation in the age of artificial intelligence. The film also opened the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival and was selected at the Warsaw International Film Festival, where it competed for an audience award. In the lead role is Cécile de France, who rose to fame with L’Auberge Espagnole, for which she won the César Award for Most Promising Actress.
Dalloway is directly inspired by the novel Les Fleurs de l’ombre by Tatiana de Rosnay, published in 2020.
