FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL
Alliance Française de Singapour celebrated French Cinema!
Alliance Française' theater was the place to be from 17 to 27 November 2022, as the latest French Film Festival took place, as part of vOilah! France Singapore Festival. Over 30 screenings of recent French movies, including the thriller with Gilles Lellouche, Kompromat, the family comedy Le Petit Nicolas, from the famous character by René Goscinny, the feel-good movie Champagne!, Belle & Sebastian, and many more... were offered to the public. The festival was a huge success, with more than 2,000 spectators flocking to the theater to enjoy the best of French cinema.
One of the highlights of the festival was the exclusive Q&A sessions with stars who travelled from France to present their movies.
First, we were thrilled to welcome Elsa Zylberstein on the opening night at Alliance Française, for the premiere in Singapore of Simone, the inspiring biopic about Simone Veil, as well as for the moving choral comedy Champagne! The latter was preceded by a champagne cocktail thanks to the generous support of Taittinger.
Later during the festival, Ana Girardot and Anissa Bonnefont were on hand to talk about "La Maison", adapted from the famous novel by Emma Becker, and give an inside look of the movie to the audience. They also took part in a masterclass in French with some of our students learning French with us.
The festival was a great success and we can't wait for the next one. Keep an eye out for more exciting French film events in the future, as we continue to showcase the best of French cinema, and save the date for next year French Film Festival!
