AMOURS
A French Excellence Programme by Crédit Agricole

From 6 February to 4 April, Alliance Française de Singapour was honoured to present "Amours", a French Excellence Programme offering an extraordinary cultural journey across love in all its forms.
At the heart of this initiative, a stunning exhibition by French multi-disciplinary artist Antoinette Rozan was showcased, exploring the transformative power of love in three evocative chapters. But Amours wasn’t just an exhibition - it was a full cultural experience. In addition to the powerful visual art, the programme featured an exciting array of events that bring the theme to life, including a recital, a selection of French movies, workshops... and more!
With over 2,500 attendees joining us for the exhibition and various events, Amours proved to be a resounding success!
Let’s take a moment to look back on this unforgettable journey through love, art, and connection!

Amours, the exhibition
The key highlight of the French Excellence Programme was the exhibition Amours by Antoinette Rozan. Divided into three distinct chapters - Je t’aime, Inner Love, and Re-Love-Union, it invited visitors on a reflective journey, celebrating the transformative power of love: from romantic connections to the importance of self-love, and the collective power of human unity.
Chapter I – Je t’aime (6 February to 22 February)
The journey began with Je t’aime, a chapter that immersed visitors in the romantic and intimate aspects of love. Through Antoinette’s sculptures and paintings, infused with bold colours and tender forms, the emotional energy of love between partners was brought to life. In this chapter, visitors were invited to experience the emotional intensity of love, not only as a feeling but as a powerful, transformative force that adds vibrancy and meaning to life

Chapter II – Inner Love (27 February to 15 March)
In the second chapter, Inner Love, Antoinette took a more introspective turn, shifting focus to the importance of self-love and personal discovery. This chapter invited visitors to reflect on their own journey toward self-acceptance. Through her art, she emphasized the balance between similarity and difference, encouraging us to embrace our flaws as part of our unique identities. Inner Love was a powerful reminder that self-love is not egotistical but essential for living authentically and meaningfully, and that true love begins with oneself.

Chapter III – Re-love-union (19 March to 4 April)
The final chapter, Re-love-union, brought the artistic journey to a close by expanding the concept of love beyond the individual, to explore collective unity and empathy. Here, Antoinette Rozan presented love as a force that transcends personal relationships and unites us as a global community. The works in this section invited reflection on how love, in its many forms, can unite us across differences and help us find strength in our shared experiences.

An exciting lineup of events part of Amours French Excellence Programme
To expand the journey of exploring love in all its forms, Alliance Française de Singapour curated a thrilling lineup of diverse events that brought the theme to life in unexpected ways.
To kick off the celebrations, a series of artistic workshops were hosted by Singapore-based artist D'Gers, allowing participants to explore and express love through creativity. From card printing through carving techniques to splattering painting, these workshops invited people to craft personal, heartfelt pieces of art: perfect for sharing with a loved one.
The theme of love was also brought to life through live performances that captured its many facets. For children, we offered a fun an interactive opera recital, specially designed for young audiences, giving them a magical introduction to the world of opera. For adults, Cherche Un Homme was featured, a whimsical, laughter-filled theatrical performance that playfully explored the humorous side of love.
As no conversation about love is complete without cinema, we finally planned an exciting selection of French films that delved into love's complexities. The lineup featured timeless French classics, like César et Rosalie or Donkey Skin, alongside more recent releases such as Sarah Bernhardt La Divine, My Everything... and more! To ensure there was something for everyone, we also included charming films for little ones, such as Little Vampire or Nina and the Hedgehog's secret, making it a truly diverse selection exploring all forms of love.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us during this wonderful exhibition! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! We would also like to thank our amazing partners Credit Agricole, Perrier Singapore, Maison Perrier Singapore, Vittel and Air France. Their contribution has been key in bringing this project to life, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have them as part of this artistic journey.
Stay tuned for the next French Excellence Programme!
